On Elons roster for 2004 I found it strange that there are 16 pitchers, 4+ catchers,5+ first basemen and only 4 middle infielders.(3-freshmen and 1 soph.) Can anyone explain this?

I have not studied the roster but I would vernture to guess that the players are listed by primary position and play other positions as well which are not noted.

Young roster not a boatload of seniors
Also a number of the players are listed for multiple positions
Do I know the reason for the roster allocations? NOPE
I would think Coach Kennedy has a reason for what he does
And perhaps some of the young players will end up playing positions other than listed as the season progresses

I know a lot of these players, and yes, TR is right. Most of them are multi-position players. If you can recruit mulit-position players as heavily as they have, it can put you in a good position. Never have to worry about having enough "arms" on the club.
Elon is a "hot" program, well worth a close look.
They have just moved out of the Big South Conference to the Southern Conference. It looks like they are putting together a team that will compete in a hurry.
