2017 son is a junior in high school. I wonder if he should include his gpa in his emails to coaches. Not really sure. It's somewhere between 3.3 and 3.5 but by the time he graduates may fluctuate. Any input would be appreciated?
Thank you.

We always include it, though my sons is a 3.8. I don't see any harm in including it. Its not like they are not going to find out about it at some point. In fact the first thing every asked of my son by coaches, is "how are your grades".
Yes, as well as any other academic achievements that would reflect positively on him.
Should he always include his GPA in emails to coaches...no, I don't think so. Is it relevant to send a grade report...yes, absolutely. Even if coaches are not asking for it.
We looked at mid term and semester grade reports as an opportunity to communicate "something" to college coaches. Continuing to demonstrate sons' interest in their school and highlighting that they were in the ballpark academically.
As an aside, we found SAT or ACT scores to be most relevant to coaches at this stage (Junior year). The coaches need a sense that your player is suitable for Admissions. GPAs are very hard to compare nationwide. A 3.5 here may be a 3.8 somewhere else. Test scores tend to be the starting point in our experience. And GPA is still important, we just found test scores to be more important.
"opportunity to communicate "something" to college coaches"; Like this.
thank you all.

2ndMarDiv: I guess it would depend on where you are applying or schools vetting. How does his GPA compare to those admitted in school? If you put it in e-mail (or heading) it should be accurate (i.e. exact). HS Guidance could print off a most recent report card if you/son cannot locate. Good luck.
Georgetown was a school that used to require 3 SAT II's. Last I knew they lowered it to 2, but that may have changed.
When did people have their sons take ACT or SAT?

That's probably a good separate thread, it will go slightly unnoticed here. Please start one.
For 2016 son, took ACT Oct junior year, then Dec junior year, and one more time Sept senior year after some tutoring hoping to pick up an extra few points.
Took them in Nov and Dec of Jr year. He is very close to breaking into the 30s so he's taking it again this weekend and then the school/state mandated test in March/April.

Son is probably going to end up closer to a 3.5 or better. I'm hoping better. We are realistic and not fixated on any one school. He's talked about a law enforcement career, Yale, Harvard or even Georgetown would be nice but not necessary. We're starting to target many different schools where we think he'll fit in academically and where he's going to like going to school. For example we've targeted schools in the northeast because we know he likes the cold and the winter lifestyle. He'd also would be very at home in the south so we've targeted schools here also. And hoping he gets the opportunity to play the game we love beisbol.
Harvard or Yale would be a very big long shot with a 3.3-3.5 GPA. Of course, I suppose you have already found that out. However, it's not impossible!
HPY would be difficult with a 3.3/3.5 gpa, unless it's matched with at least a 30 ACT and you are one of the strongest recruits. Lots of talented athletes with above 3.5's and above 30 ACT's for the coach to select from... Georgetown is less selective than HPY.
HYP "ballpark" AI is around 215. A GPA 3.40-3.49 would need to be balanced out with a 32/33 ACT or 740 SAT average.... unless you are the 90 mph pitcher or power hitter which would require a higher score from another recruit in class to "balance" out player's lower AI score.
Georgetown is less selective than HPY.
True, but it's still very highly selective at 16%. It's crazy out there!
