YES, do it. However, be brief. Pick your wording correctly and make sure to offer another such video if he can't place his hands on the first. Don't over do the stats but be sure to make a proper intro of your abilities. Finally, make sure to note "other" stuff. Example, your GPA, Class Rank -- Anything that might qualify you for a scholarship. I went to college on an academic scholarship. I was a steal for our school. Of course, I was also terrible. LOL!
I had to call a D1 JUCO coach 3 times to get him to look at the video. Kept sayimg he had it on his desk but hadn't had time. It took 1.5 months and he finally called and asked what I was looking for after viewing the DVD. H emade us an offer sight unseen but the school was not recognized by the student loan people. It was a baseball factory.
I can't thyink of 1 school that looked at the video without a 1 phone call or more. Absolutly do not embelish your ability.
Not a matter of harassing. It is a matter of showing interest in their program. Make your call and judge the response. I pushed a couple guys hard and they both made offers. The one JUCO had been to the D1 WS 4 times and was ranked in the top 5 in the nation.
I found the coaches great to talk to. Some were very helpful. If you feel you are bothering the coach then stop calling him.
