Based on the season Clemens had it's too bad he lost his cell connection to his wife. I believe Schilling, Maddux and Glavine will pitch somewhere next year. The question is will they play for the money their current teams will offer, assuming there's an offer. The Phillies are interested in getting Schilling back. The Braves are interesed in Glavine. With Johnson, it's a matter of health.
It was a perfect gamesmanship by Steinbrenner --- if NY lost, he could shake up the team a bit, particularly considering the success of his young pitchers. If they won, they're in it.

AND it had the intended effect of getting his stars outer-directed toward the Fate Of Skip.

But, with 55mom, I believe we're also seeing the birth of a new era. Happens that way.

With the Glavines, etc., I believe a team would be foolish to pay them as they're being paid now. The question should be do they want to keep playing at any price.
