Hey folks,

My wife is putting together the slideshow for our banquet and we are trying to come up with some music to go along with the photos. We are starting off with Alabama "Cheap Seats" but looking for other appropriate songs as well. "Centerfield" is an old favorite also, but wondering what other music you guys play at your games. Our minds are drawing a blank. What is that Bruce Springsteen one about throwing the "Speedball"?

The group Blur has a song called Song 2 and it's pretty good sports song. The chorus is the part that would work. You might not like it but I love this song.

Willie, Mickey and the Duke (Talking baseball) by Terry Cashman. I think you will recognize it when you hear it. Great older song.

Boys are back in town - Thin Lizzy

I am here by John McCutcheon

Wild Thing by the Troggs

National Anthem, America the Beautiful and any other patriotic song would sound great.
Welcome Concrete!

I would go with songs that sounded good and make you feel good versus ones that have a baseball theme that are overplayed anyways in every ball park.

If you were going with Bruce for example, Glory Days would be a better choice imho just because more people like the song. Sweet Home Alabama is in fact overplayed but it never gets old because everyone loves that song. Here is one from Rocky IV:

2B is one of those cool moms. I'll bet a lot of parents don't know these songs.
2BMOM,
Just a slight correction,
The song by Green Day is titled "Good Riddance" not Time Of Your Life.

My son corrected me several years ago and told me it was written to an old girlfriend of Billy Joe's. Now I get a good laugh every time I here it at a graduation, it's like the last shot by the school to the graduating students, Good Riddance.
I made a PowerPoint every year for my team. I divided my PP up into themes such as Seniors, All-Conference, Let's Hit, We're running, D-fence, OH NOOO, and then our State Run.

I created huge powerpoints and had to use my laptop to present the shows. I was fortunate to have a lot of photos. Here are some songs I used:

Smooth - Santana
Running down a Dream - Tom Petty
Danger Zone - Kenny Loggins
The Boys of Summer - Don Henley
Born to Run - The Boss
The Greatest - Kenny Rogers
Runaround - Blues Traveler
Time after Time - Cindy Lauper
Crumbling Down - John Mellencamp
The Impossible - Joe Nichols
Young - Kenny Chesney
The Chicks Dig It - Chris Cagle
Burning Heart - Survivor

Senior sections songs like"
Living Years - Mike and the Mechanics
Father to Son - Cat Stevens
One More Day - Diamond Rio
The Best Day of my Life - George Strait
We may Never Pass This Way Again - Seals & Croft
My List - Toby Keith
The River - Garth Brooks
I Go Back - Kenny Chesney
Holding Back the Years - Simply Red

One year, I had some special kids who were not the best players BUT they were GREAT KIDS. Of course, I think that their goal was to make me bald. They constantly were stirring stuff up and having a lot of fun. They requested that I play this song with pictures of them:

Dukes of Hazard Theme - Waylon Jennings

I think this list is a good start. Have fun with it! BTW, if you build a PowerPoint, you need to create a folder with the PowerPoint in the folder and then put the songs in the folder. Otherwise, you might have a problem with the PowerPoint locating the songs. I've found that building a PowerPoint out of the Folder itself saves you a lot of heartache.
