as a general rule would the ERA be higher for a starter, reliever or closer, who would have the lowest? The arguements I was listening (and partcipating with) was that the starters would always be lower cause they pitch more innings...butI should thing the closers would be lower cause he is not suppose to be giving up the runs...but the argument about the starter geting more innings kind of makes sense...so what do the experts think?

I think it depends on the pitcher effectiveness.A reliever's era
can fluctuate greatly depending on his performance.One bad inning can ruin his era, but it can get back quickly.In high school it also depends who is keeping or cooking the books.
