I ran across this story on ESPNHS. I don't know the young man but I have seen his name here on the Message Boards and I know that there are many James River fans on this site. Great story.

Tyler is one of our Virginia Cardinals success stories. Stuck behind a host of talented pitchers, he didn't get many innings at James River last year. But when he got his opportunities last June at travel tourneys, he swiftly found himself with offers from William & Mary, Radford, Va. Tech, and finally UVA, his dream school.
Tyler quickly gained velocity with regular work and even touched 90 in front of UVA's coaches, at a tourney sponsored by the Canes. But it's his devastating curve/slider combo that got him where he is heading.
And now that JR is having some health issues with its other pitchers, look for Tyler to have an increasingly prominent role down the home stretch and into the playoffs.
