The ability to play the game.

How well do they catch?
How well do they throw?
How well do they field?
How do they swing the bat?
How athletic are they?

It pretty easy to pick out the guys that stand out above the rest. Make sure you get a good catcher a guy that wants to be back there and can play the posistion. Of course get some pitching. Get a couple of mif's. And try and get a guy for center. Then build around those guys. Good luck

Thank you coach!
Agree with Coach May but since it's a draft you need to realize you won't get everyone you want.
make a list and chart the skills on a scale and if you can have a backup for each position if you don't get your guy.

I would get at least two catchers and all the pitching you can. There are real pitchers who also play baseball and then there are ball players that can also pitch.

Then as coach says build from the middle out.
