ok first there was a play in the first inning that the visiting coach did not like he came out to argue. in the 4 inning I say one of the senior officials from our association. come to the field. he went to the fence at the end of the visiting teams dugout and started talking to the coach that had argued the play.
and it was about the play that was agued becouse I could tell when the coach pointed at me. I took a little offence to this since he is a evaluator in our association. I called him after the game and asked him why would he talk to a coach during a game about a play in the game. I was upset. Should I have been??
I wouldnt mind if he talked to him after but while the game is going on kind of ****ed me off. what do you think of this situation?

As an evauluator and rules interpreter,I have have talked to coaches to see what the umpire said in the discussion. I don't discuss the play but I want to know how the umpire explained the call. Many times knowing the ruling isn't enough, comunicating it is the other half. I would then talk to the umpire to see how he explained it. You can't hear what is said so you have to talk to both sides to see how the umpire skills are developing.
If the guy is underming you then he is wrong. Learning your effectiveness is fine.
