Replies sorted oldest to newest

I have gotten several of these about my son, usually after a bigger event.  I've never responded.  It looks like a scam, though I admit I've never really checked it out, and the do have some basic info about my son.  I think I've seen posts about this outfit before, and IIRC, the consensus was the same as my assumption.....

SCAM!  Go to the recent thread titled "Perfect Recruit."

 

This is more of the same crap. Here is part of what I posted to help folks understand how these scoundrels do it. It's a simple business model in the era of the Web:

 

- Build a website

- Pay a coach or two to "endorse"

- Get email lists from select youth sports organizations

- Spam hundreds of thousands of young athletes

- Hook a few hundred

- Do useless writeups

- Leverage these to entice more athletes

- Retire young

 

Someone added: Name your scam something that sounds legit.That's what Scouting News did. They're playing off of The Sporting News.
