My son just finished his second season with the U17 Evoshield Seminoles, formerly the RBA West 17U Elite. I would like to take a second to recognize the organization as it has been wonderful for my son and our family. The organization is run by Chris Gerrity and the head coach is the legend Donnie Phillips. Donnie has been coaching for 30 years and his relationships with college coaching staffs is impressive. Donnie was a major help in my son's college search.
On this year's team we had four 2015 pitchers with verbal commitments, right hander Nic Enright to VT, and lefties Michael Geary to VMI, Daniel Lynch to UVA and Bodie Sheehan to William and Mary. Our 2016 third baseman Will Allocca committed to UVA and our shortstop 2016 Clayton Baine will play at Radford. We also had two 2016 outfielders Joe Reed and Cole Blackman commit to UVA for football. There are several other really good players that I think will play in college for sure. Keep your eye on 2017 Daniel Brooks a great young baseball player.
The team just wrapped up a very successful summer season where we beat some very good baseball teams. I can't recommend the team enough and if you know a quality baseball player with a desire to play college ball I would highly recommend trying out for the team it was a great ride for us.
