All everyone says about Bonds is "Where's the proof?". How 'bout we don't jump on "Nails" Dykstra without proof. Truth be told, I'm beginning to think Jose Canseco's drug-user numbers as stated in his book may not be that far off. For quite a few years there we were watching "fake baseball".

Dykstra admitted in an interview a couple of years ago that he was using steroids.

I think Canseco's drug user numbers are either right on, or low.

The vast majority of the players caught have been the lower income guys, that have to use the mainstream, known steroids that can be tested for.

The guys that have the money to spend can either use a designer steroid that doesn't show up in testing (like the ones linked to Balco), or HGH, which isn't tested for.

It isn't rocket science. If you can afford it, using drugs that either won't show up or aren't tested for would enable a player to put up bigger numbers, putting him in line for a bigger, guaranteed contract.
