NEW FORUM Announced!

The HSBBW is now providing a place for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors, as well as college players in transition, to post information about themselves in the quest for recognition and potential recruitment at all levels of collegiate and/or summer league baseball. It is hoped that word of this new forum will spread and become a must-stop forum for recruiters looking to fill roster openings and initiate contact where and when appropriate.

The new forum may be found in the list of General Forums and is called, appropriately enough, UNSIGNED PLAYERS. Only moderators will have access to this forum. Others may not post. Please see the ‘sticky’ header on this new forum for additional info on the process of getting your info in front of HSBBW viewers.

Krak:

Do the players have to compensate for the time differential between the States and South Korea?

Is their ability to deal with this confusing issue part of their questionnnaire?

Here's an easy solution to the thorny problem...

"When in Seoul...do as the Seoul Brothers do...wind your watch 'til it doesn't wind anymore!" rotlaugh

Seriously...great idea, can be a boon for those players that don't have a seat in the orchestra pit and don't have hundreds of horns blowing for them constantly.

I'm certain that more than a few coaches and recruiters are going to be thrilled to discover some real gems that have been unnoticed or were too humble to climb way up on their soap box!

Thanks for your effort Krak!

Krak and MNMom, I sent a PM with this suggestion, but thought you might want to consider making this forum open to all unsigned players. My own JUCO son is looking to transfer (now public knowledge) and is unsigned for the moment. We also have some older former college players that might want to share their information. noidea

Sorry. I found the posting that answer almost all my questions. Would it be appropriate to submit a posting for an '07 who would just like a bit more exposure. Obviously, we've had only small email contact with a few colleges..not July 1 yet. But would this forum be more appropriate for 06's? Wouldn't want to crowd the site unnecessarily? Thanks
Thank you all for the suggestions!

Yes, we will include JUCO players and any other college age players who have reason to post their info.

And yes, we will do our best to organize it by year, and by any other category that makes it easier for college coaches to find a player they might want to follow up with. Some of the format issues will evolve as we go along - right, Krak? Cool

I also wanted to mention that this new forum is NOT an attempt to compete with other avenues our players are using to get exposure. This is just one more way to help players connect with the right fit. If the new forum helps even one player per year to find an opportunity to play college baseball, then I will consider it a success - because every one of our sons matters a lot.

How are we going to get the colleges on here? How are we going to get them interested in viewing our site and this new forum?

How does that saying go?

"Kids Eat Free on Tuesdays!"

Naw...that's not quite it...

"Every Fifth Night is Free!"

It's something like that...

"Throw it together...and someone will show up!"...

Getting close...

"Build it...and they will come."

That's it...that's the one that will work...
