I just recently replaced/updated my "old" Nikon D70 with a D5100. Digital SLR camera's have improved alot the past 6 years! My D70 still works great, however I was feeling "left behind" with its small sensor and my lens lineup sans VR lens. I also had too much time to browse amazon one day. As I was buying the stuff to go along with the new camera and updated lens, I ordered a SDHC 4gb X2 Eye-fi card for $37. I have been pleasantly surprised by this card, t does a lot more then I thought it would. For those that don't know the basic concept behind the card is the "aftermarket" addition of wi-fi connectivity to any digital camera. More recent camera's have have some eye-fi managment tools built-in to help manage the cards power use.

Once the card is properly set up on your camera, laptop and/or phone, you can download photos while the camera is in use, to many internet photo services/social network etc, iphone, droid phone or computer/tablet with a wifi connection. Obviously it doesn't download as fast as a cable connection, however it doesn't need a cable and works in the background.http://www.eye.fi/how-it-works/basics. If you are downloading to laptop or ipad you can also program the eye-fi card to delete transfered photos from the card as you go along, creating a sort of an "endless memory card" in your camera.
