TM1324,

Sounds like your son is very talented. Not all players go through that. However, if your son has had or mentioned any previous injury, the medical report will always be asked for. Signability is common for high school kids, so is eye exam. Depending on the results of all three of those things, it sounds like your son will be drafted, possibly in a good round.

floridfan,

I sure hope things work out for your son. He absolutely deserves a chance. He has a chance to make it to the top. He wouldn't be going through a lot of signability questions because he has no leverage at this point. Surely he has had some scouts talk to him this year. I would expect him to go in the first half of the draft.

The eye test is standard. If not done before the draft, then it is done at time of physical.

I think the biggest concern is color blindness.

My son has been invited to a pre-draft workout. They have not asked about a vision test, even though he wears glasses to pitch. Their questionnaire did ask about medical history and he explained that he had a benign brain tumor removed 10 years ago. The invite came after he disclosed all that info, so I guess he's still okay to go!!
