Fall Showcase League- Freshman?

Do any of you have experience or advice relative to registering an incoming freshman to tryout for the GSBL fall showcase league.

Physically mature (5' 11', 170)and growing, catcher with 2.4-2.5 pop and a solid bat facing mostly 68-75 mph pitching.

Is it too soon or would it be good to start to get on peoples radar screen?

My son played in this league an the baseball was pretty good for the fall. The only problem I had with them was the league is based out of the southern part of the state, so the league guys an coaches had their favorites from the southern schools and didn't no the kids from up north, which led to less playing time an opportunity for them.

Not much other options up there, I would sign him up. Attend all tryouts and at different positions as well.
