She is one of my favorite members here at the high school baseball web. She always speaks from the heart and speaks truthfully. I know she has probably bitten her fingernails down to the nubs this week in anticipation of her son's first game at Southern California.

All her son did yesterday in his first game at USC was go 4-5 with four rbi's Eek

Some debuts are so memorable we have to start seperate threads for them. Please share your good wishes for this young man and his family!

She was worried to death during the fall how things would turn out. I assured her the best I could that typically a solid D1 program like USC wouldn't recruit a JUCO player who only played 1 year without seeing something special in him.

What an amazing first game for him! I know she has to be on cloud 9 right now!

That's awesome to hear!

Great win except it was against my son's 2 best friends!

Thank you for all the kind words about Matt. As far as Cal Poly, we won the series against them but they are a pretty good team.My first D1 baseball weekend, and it was really fun.Baseball is full of highs, then the lows and they will come.As CD has told me several times, the true test will come with the lows, and how a player perseveres.

It was a great start for the Trojans, and as in every win there are so many involved. In three games we had one error. That is a good start.

Hope everyone else opening weekend was fun.

I was able to spend some quality time with some of my sons teammates and was just blown away at what quality , quality men they are.Smart, articulate, humble and I was impressed.
