Ken,

Are you gettimg to go to Farmington?

As I know it, unfortunately Kermit Dow and Shad Whitely are unable to attend the Connie Mack World Series due to family reasons.

Cade Griffis and Pat Leach have both asked me and Corey Thornton to attend helping Pat with anything he needs.

I have taken the invitation as a compliment. As I helped Cade hang his first net in his old building, I share a special relationship with DBAT and staff.

I am excited about the opportunity and look forward to helping Pat out with whatever he needs. Even if it's keeping the score book. I just appreciate the opportunity to experience such a special event.

FUNNY, wonder what the Legion TEAMS said when you ALL started SELECT TEAMS. You were restricted by only certain schools playing on certain teams. You didn't like that, WHY. It was a TEAM. But you side tracked that by moving to select teams so you could SHOWCASE the BETTER players.

As the world turns, its just another cycle and you can't see that.

SELECT TEAMS are a smaller version used in smaller areas of AREA CODE TEAMS.

I believe having KG just around the kids giving his advice would help any team. KG may have a suggestion on hitting, baserunning, fielding that just may help a kid out.

When you achieved success where KG was then he should offer his opinions to kids.

We may have a coaching spot for you KG Big Grin

KG...you agree?
I think it's unfair to slam KG for his opinions. I don't know the history behind them as well as most you of do I'm sure, but I know he's very adament about the sport. As a player, I want my coach to have that passion and even if his ideas differ from mine, I want his ideas to be strong and unwaivering. The man knows what he's talking about when it comes to this sport. After all, if it didn't matter what team you were on (to get noticed), then every stud would start their own team in order to be the best player. Obviously I understand that's a little extreme. I think one thing people sometimes underestimate is how much scouts look at the personality of a player. I can say that my true desire for the team's success shines through brighter when I'm with my team; rather than when I'm with a group of kids thrown together to play some games. Some kids are meant to go off to certain events-- I take nothing away from them-- but some kids like myself try to utilize the team aspect to their advantage. I'm not really siding with either side (I like to sit on the fence... you can see how both sides of the grass are doing that way). I think it's also important to remember they are opinions, he is not forcing them down anyone's throat through this message board.
