As we all know, players are superstitious. Mine would always want a Whopper Jr. with cheese before he pitched and pasta the night before. I liked a hot dog and a coke before the game. Maybe 2! Big Grin How do you think I got the name Bighit! crazy

What are some of the weird eats out there on game day!

Travel involves morning games. We stop at BK for croissant sandwiches. He eats Subway if there are breaks between games. Between 7/11 and BK I've consumed 40 ounces of coffee before game one. I'm up for the game.

A friend of mine pitched for the Brewers. He said they had the best Brats at the stadium. Since he knew he wasn't pitching until the ninth he sent a fan for a brat and a coke in the fourth inning.

Not really any rituals, but pbj,or meat sandwich with turkey or ham is usually a go. Prefers something light, so no bacon on the meat sandwich. Sent Clif bars to school during the season.

Son loves Bojangles after games. If you don't know what that is, you must come South. Smile

Poptarts are a "perfect food" according to son.
Never heard of Bojangles (durn Northerner)... so I googled 'em: sounds good.
Ingredients:
3 cups self rising flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons confectioners sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/4 cup buttermilk
butter

Directions:

Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Stir in buttermilk. Knead a few times, roll or pat out on a board and cut with a biscuit cutter. Bake in 450-degree oven for 12 minutes (or until golden). Brush with butter.

This recipe from CDKitchen for Bojangles Biscuits serves/makes 1 dozen

Your son shouldn't eat turkey. There's a natural chemical in turkey that creates fatigue. Chicken is OK.
ummm tryptophan

You make a good point about watching what you eat, but since he doesn't eat mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie with his sandwich, I think he's OK with a couple of slices. No carb high and crash. (The current thinking is the carbs are the major culprit for the Thanksgiving nap.)

He rarely drinks caffeine and never drinks those energy drinks.

(anyone else hungry?) Smile
