Come on now. We're gonna still be digging out from the snow @ Woodgrove!

But to heck with the 20th of Feb. I'm itching for our opener March 13. Looks like we've got you guys TCW on the 16th. Try to do a little better against you this year. :-)

Hickory does have some work to do. Defensively they were rusty. Many, many errors.

However, Ryan Blake did not pitch.

Zach York looked good on the mound in the first 2 innings. If it wasn't for the errors and the bad calls from the ump those 2 runs would have been much harder to come by.

Then Bobby Chandler shut them down for 2 innings with 0 hits, 0 walks and 2K's.

I have confidence that the bats will be there and the defense will be much better.

It was a good wake up call for them.
Kellam 9, Hickory 1 after completion of official game. (61/2 innings due to Kellam being home team) I agree with D. Stalker that two very costly errors @ 2b led to more than half of Kellams runs. Give the Knights credit for taking advantage and hitting the ball after those errors and scoring 4 or 5 runs to widen their 2-0 first inning lead. Totally disagree that any bad calls factored either way ?Kellam batted and played 12-14 players throughout the day and looked solid. Hickory will be better than the final score would reflect. Hickory has some very nice players in Best, Campbell, Blake, Carter, Neice, etc... They should be a factor in the SE District race this season.
