I watched Air Force play BYU earlier this year on ESPN. Air Force could really give the Illini a game.

I think Air Force just got in because the NCAA wanted to keep the Service Academies equal

-Army has gone to the NCAA regionals in baseball two years in a row

-Navy has been in a Bowl game at least twice in the last 3 years.

I like Duke out of the old Southeast, Gonzaga commming out of the old West, UConn comming out of the old East regional, and Villanova comming out of the Midwest.

Look for Syracuse, West Virginia, BC, and Michigan State to do some damage..............

That is a joke Fungo. Air Force doesn't belong in the tourney....the only way they win is if the Illini fall on their faces and they would have to really screw up to lose that game.

I see all #1 seeds at the final four (first time ever). The spoiler = Gonzaga!

I also don't see many Cinderalla's upsets for first round. (and maybe 2nd round!)

I saw Air Force play just one game, but they flat out played that night. I'm not looking for an upset here, but I am looking for it to be a decent ballgame. This isn't the Illini from a year ago. This is a team who has been beat by Penn State (ouch) at Assembly Hall!

Illinois isn't going anywhere. 2 player team and if the one isn't hitting his first 2 jumpers, he'll disappear.

Illinois will win 2-3 games at most. But Air Force won't beat them.

This will be the year Gonzaga makes the Final Four! LSU and Texas are both capable of upsetting Duke in that region. My Final Four selections are Texas, Gonzaga, Connecticut, and Boston College.

Is Texas as capable as knocking off Duke as they were when they lost by 30+? Paaaaleeease. Everyone puts Duke down every year simply because they are hated. This is the most complete NCAA team in years. Easily the best Duke team in the past couple years, and that's saying alot.

Thriller, update your calendar. It's March and nobody cares about the 30 point non conference lost months ago. As for this being the best Duke team in the last few years. Why is that saying much? What has Duke done that's been so impressive in the tournament over the last two seasons? They choked and blew a 20 point second half lead to Connecticut in the Final Four two years ago and as for last year Duke was in North Carolina's shadows all season. Texas will win this region. It's very possible LSU could knock off Duke in the round of 16. Duke has no inside game and will pay the price to either LSU or in the following round to Texas. I think it will be Texas vs Connecticut in the championship. I'm sure Connecticut fans would prefer Duke in the championship so they could beat them again.

Rebel, Saying that Duke has no inside game is ridiculous. Sheldon Williams has been consistant all year and McRoberts played a hell of a game against Boston College in the ACC championship. That said it is still Connecticut's tourny to win because they are the most talented but if they fall off at any time before the championship I believe Duke will be cutting the nets down.

Goose, Williams is a very good scorer. What I meant to say is Duke can't defend a good inside game. I'm not impressed and don't think Duke has enough depth in the paint to win six tournament games in a row. What was ridiculous was some of Thriller's post. Who's jealous or hates Duke? They have a very good team every year but when March comes calling they loose their last game of the year like everyone else does. Since 2001's championship Duke hasn't impressed in the NCAA Tournament very much. They could win it all but so could about eight other teams including Texas.

Hey Thriller, how about that monster inside game of Duke tonight? Just like I predicted Duke would get smashed in the paint. The best Duke team in years. Who are you kidding? Duke's offense looked confused all night. Tigers move on and the Bluedevils go home. Like I said, Duke can't defend in the paint. LSU looked like a pro team inside while Duke looked like a bunch of Highschool players in the paint.

Sulltiger, I'm not gloating. Just stating what happened to Duke. Thriller was way off base with his comments a few weeks ago. Duke has a fine team but far from one of there strongest teams in years. Like I mentioned two weeks ago, LSU and Texas are much stronger teams than Duke and would probably defeat them.

Rebel, you have a right to gloat. You predicted that Duke would get upset. You were right on the mark. I couldn't believe Duke was held to only 54 points. Anyways great prediction. It looks like a possible Texas against Connecticut finals could take place. Still along way to go though.

Still can't get comfortable with basketball players sporting ponytails...looks too much like girls fastpitch softball...on the girls the ponytails look great...and look awful on a male basketball player in my opinion. John Wooden, watching from his hospital bed, probably spit up his JELL-O. ...his teams were always quite the gentlemen, real class student/athletes, and always well disciplined!

Turned the game off when it was midway through the first...couldn't stomach to watch that little hairy flag flying on top of that flagpole.

They lost one senior who didn't play a significant part on the team. They are a very fast and athletic team that can really compete. They will start one senior, two juniors and two sophomore next year and they are really deep. Even though they had a bad record in the big east, they lost a lot of close games (Pitt, Nova, Rutgers twice, Providence twice). I go to all the home games and they are one fun team to watch with the players they will have next year.
