Does anyone have any information about pre-draft showcases, independent league tryouts, and post-draft open tryouts in the mid-Atlantic region??? (I live in Pennsylvania, go to school in Virginia.) Thanks in advance!!
Actually, as long as you pay your own way an NCAA player can attend the open MLB scouting bureau tryouts and the individual club tryouts. LHP...I would check out MLB.com and search "tryouts." They usually have web links. However, it may not be until Spring that they post them.
I believe he can go and display his skills to whatever team when he likes during his collegiate career. I believe the player can only sign with the team after his season over? I'm not sure but that's not really a concern of mine anyway.
Yes independant teants do sign contracts and if a MLB team wants them they have to buy their contract. AN NCAA player can tryout any time. LHP is right.
