Cost: $750.00
Tournament Details: Four games are guaranteed with the 1st and 2nd place teams from each pool advancing to the championship round. Games will be played on predominately College fields in the greater Orange County area.
Tournament Notes and History: Since its inception thirteen years ago “The Firecracker” has become known as premier summer tournament for 18U teams from around the nation. Teams from Texas, Arizona, New York, Washington, Nevada, Oregon, Northern California, Utah and elsewhere have come to the Orange County to pit themselves against Southern California’s best baseball clubs.
With first class accommodations, great weather and lots of off the field activities “The Firecracker Classic Baseball Tournament” provides a nice travel opportunity for out of Town/State teams.
“The Firecracker” has become a true showcase event for pro scouts and Southern California’s College baseball coaches. As usual coaches from USC, UCLA, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Long Beach, University of Irvine, University of Riverside, and USD just to name a few, will be in attendance at tournament games.
Over the years “The Firecracker” has seen its share of future big leaguers show their skills in the tournament. Some but not all include: Barry Zito (Giants/Southern California Renegades), Chase Utley (Philadelphia Phillies/Long Beach Breakers), Kip Wells (Chicago White Sox/KC Chapman), Phil Siebel (Angels/Southern California Renegades), Ryan Garko (Clevland Indians/Encinitas Reds), Bubba Crosby (New York Yankees/KC Chapman), CJ Wilson (Texas Rangers/Southern California Renegades), Craig Wilson (New York Yankees, Southern California Renegades), Benny Francisco (Clevland Indians, OC Dawgs), Ian Kennedy (New York Yankees, Encinitas Reds), Phil Hughes (New York Yankees, Saddleback Devils),
