Go AZ. First LL Jrs champions, now we win Babe Ruth.

The Hamilton Huskies saved something for the end, scoring 33 runs in the semifinals and final to take the Babe Ruth 14u World Series championship home to Chandler.

Hamilton pounded host Appleton, Wisc. 11-5 Saturday in the title game at Alex Rodriquez Field.

Earlier Saturday, the Huskies completed a 22-3 victory over Fort Smith, Ark. that was continued after a rain delay on Friday.

It was the second title in three years for Huskies manager Tony Valdez. Most of his current team had only a passing interest when the Huskies won that title in 2007. They were engaged in winning the Little League West Regional in San Bernardino, Calif.

Appleton led 2-0 in the third inning of the title game when the Huskies exploded for six runs.

Zack Strand singled to score James Ziegler with the Huskies first run. Later in the inning, Cooper Burton's bunted his way on to load the bases, setting the stage for Edgar Galiz, who singled to tie the game. Tyler Hill walked, forcing in another run and give the Huskies the lead.

Tyler Erwin singled to plate two more and a bad throw allowed another run to score and make it 6-2. Galiz doubled to drive in two runs and spark a four-run fourth inning as the Huskies extended their lead.

Against Fort Smith, Skyler Palermo went 3-for-4 with a triple and five RBI. Luke Parrish went 3-for-3 with a double and scored four runs. Kyle Pechoff was 2-for-4 with a double.

Galiz went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Burton was 4-for-5 and scored three runs.

Go AZ.
Hustle never has a bad day.
