2. Is this $$ for one year with the option for an extension or is it for four years? (I know this rule is in flux, sorry if I'm asking a dumb question)

3. Did your son just have a big velo jump and that's why the offer came, or has this school been talking with him for awhile? There are a few people on this board that have been through the early committing and then a velo jump and de-commit...just wondering if your son is steadily gaining and can expect more offers, or do you think this is IT?

What a tough spot, good luck!

The school did say he would come in relief until he had earned a spot as a starter.

My son has had a jump in velocity this past summer. I don't know if its considered a lot but he was around 78-79 mph in the beginning of the spring and by August he was at 81-82 and topping at 84.  He has very good control and has been told he has a very good breaking ball and off speed.

I don't think he could or would make a decision without seeing the campus and getting to meet the full coaching staff. We may wait until the showcase and talk to the coach there and my son can get to talk to him there and then see if we can make a visit to the campus in the weeks that follow the showcase. My son can then see if he sees himself fitting into that campus and what he thinks about the coaches and where he would fit in the program. Then would have to make a decision regarding the smaller school one way or another at that point.
