Marksmenbaseball,

Coincidentally, just before reading your post I was looking at this year's list of All-Conference players (first team and second team) from my son's former college team, and feeling proud of those young men.

Of course, different college conferences have different levels of competition, so the honor is harder to earn in some than in others. But think of it this way: At all levels of college baseball, the players were among the very best players on their own HS teams. So as you move up the ladder from LL to HS to college, those honors are more competitive and mean more.

So...did someone WE know make First Team? If so, Congratulations! Smile

Marksmenbaseball,

Congrats to your son, it sounds like he had a terrific year!

I'm not familiar with that conference (and no expert about baseball anyway, just the housekeeper here). Wink But out of curiousity, I looked up the Rawlings/ABCA North Central Region First Team honor. It turns out that one of the players named to last year's First Team is the son of one of our members, itsinthegame.

Itsinthegame's son Darin was also drafted in 2007 and is now playing professional baseball. So it looks like your son is in pretty good company! Big Grin

Julie
