I don't know Hudson but I did hear him speak at the SC Baseball Coaches Convention in 2005. After the convention my then 14 year old son commented "Dad, I don't think the coach from Florence is nearly as dumb as he says he is." Hudson comes across as slow talking good ole boy from the Pee Dee. (I think he's actually from N.C.) But don't let that fool you. He is quite knowledgeable about the game. He coached Wilson High School, not exactly a baseball school, to the AAA state championship in 2002. To break even in Region X his first year took some doing. I know my contact with him was limited but he struck me as a good guy.
