I've had my eye on this small D1 program since last season, any player wanting to come south to play should check this one out, plays good competition, not to mention enjoys good weather.

You can add beautiful campus,good facilities and outstanding coaching. Also in just a couple years of becoming a DI program they can compete at the national level. They play against some of the best teams in the country.

Last year DK was there with the PB Cardinals against the Twins high A team and FGC and Florida (how cool was that the HC and son got to see each other) played afterwards.
Is that the stadium that they use?

They actually have a stadium on campus. Kind of cool as they have air conditioned glass covered area for scouts right behind home plate at field level. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they played some games at the Twins or Red Sox Stadiums in Ft Myers.
I just realized that they have a possible first rounder, Chris Sales.

Want to have a little fun, here he was back when he was topping out at 86 mph, pitching mostly at 82-84 (scroll down and read the report). I really enjoy looking back at these kids to see what we thought about them at that time. More importantly, this event was in Ft Myers and Dave Tollett (head coach at FGC) was there. Have to call that some great recruiting as well as even better player development.

They play a 4 game series with Clemson, that should be fun!

Sale is legit. Cape Cod All Star last year. We looked at the school. It is very impressive. If they had made an offer son might have gone there. As PG said, the park is nice. The field level press box is neat. The whole school is nice. Nationally ranked golf teams, also.
I saw Sale on Cape Cod last summer. He's got great stuff and is very polished, IMO. I can see him punching a quick ticket to the show.
I've been looking at that school for a while. A lot of talented players. Hope they'd offer.
My nephew will be an incoming freshmen pitcher at FGCU this coming fall. The baseball program is the #4 program in the State of FL behind the big three; Miami, uf & fsu. The other state schools; FIU, FAU, USF & UCF are so far behind in terms of what Coach Tullet has done in only a few years.
Coach Tullet built the program from ground up, literally since there wasn't even a field when he got there. Academics are important and GPA's are expected to be mainlined at a certain percent or your off the team. The school is still small so your getting a private school education for the cost of a public school.
FGCU once again finished first in the A-Sun conf. (ok so it's not the ACC or SEC ) and will be eligible for their first regional appearance this season. (Personally would love to see them in Coral Gables)
Sale is projected to go in somewhere in the first top 10 spots in this years draft.
Needless to say I look forward to spending my weekends driving across the alley to watch them play!

It is a nice mid-major program, similar in baseball quality to a bunch of others like FAU (better RPI right now), UCF, FIU etc. Good luck to your nephew.
