Just returned home from the FGCU High School Showcase camp and was amazed at how many kids were there. Because of the nasty weather, only pitchers and catchers were able to participate today. I counted close to 150 in this group only. Each kid got 15 or so throws on the mound in front of the coaches all with guns. It was interesting to watch. Lots of talent out there as well as lots of kids who think they have talent (or is it the parents?)

I recognized Coaches from UCF, FAU*, Barry*, Lynn* and Maryland.

Overwhelmed by the amount of kids from out of state in attendance as well. Camps have become such a money maker for the Asst. Coaches and their staffs.

Also spent the weekend at FGCU. A lot of players there, they have developed a very good program and with that people will follow, especially being a very small college and Division 1. I had one of the few 2012 players and realized that this was a great experience, glad we attended.

Glad you enjoyed it...we did too. My nephew is the "recruited walk-on" that they talked about in the Q&A yesterday afternoon. I can tell you from experience that this coaching staff is honest and above board. Everything they have promised they have stuck too.... So happy my nephew has decided this is the school for him!!
