I havent been on in sometime. This site was very helpful as I lurked around a bit and observed how others had gone through the recruiting process, the first letters, first calls, the visits, and the decisions. As well as the ones who did not get the calls right away and the joy when things turned out OK or the saddnes when it didn't.
Many of us have gone through the recruiting process and have our own opinions...some very strong (mine included). On subjects ranging from recruiting services, to which showcases to attend or not and what did or did not work for our kids. For the most part it was done with respect to the other posters, schools, kids, and was done with an appreciation of what a wonderful site this is.
As i look at some threads and posts theres still some great information being shared and, as I believe the intent of the site was to help in the recruiting process, but there seems to be more rudeness and less civility.
Take it for what its worth. For those that want to tear down others and offer no help except build yourself up or tear someone else down I would recommend visiting the college rival sites where theres plenty of idiots who will argue anything u want, from who has the best hot dogs to which college has the best recruiting class.
I hope that this site stays true to its purpose and continues to be a place that people can reach out for guidance and direction; as well as support and encouragement as the current JR and Soph classes gets ready for their college plans.
I've always kept pretty quiet about my own Son (just not the type to share a lot of personal info), but I've enjoyed reading and looking up how some of "our" players have done. From TPM to MN Mom, to countless others. Its always been a place where people felt welcome.
Thank you for those that keep it in perspective, and keep giving to your best ability advice, suggestions etc. to those that seek it.
