My 2022 has the set with the hockey goalie mask for a couple of years now. He did not notice the difference in weight in the helmet (he used to wear the all star set with hockey goalie mask). He took several foul tips to the mask and his eggs did not get scrambled so it was a good investment. I took advantage of a holiday sale and saved some money that of course went to other areas of his baseball development.
First post, but we like our Force3 enough to do it. Our 16u has had his for 2 years now. The hockey style mask has had to have a little work done to the fasteners, but the overall quality of the equipment is really high and it offers high quality protection. He has taken a few hard hits, and as the poster above said, "the eggs haven't been scrambled." The mask weighs a bit more but it is worth it.
my son had 2 force 3 hockey style masks. i liked the protection, but they both broke at the connections multiple times. he switched back to all star and commented that the lighter weight was nice.
i like the concept of force 3 but it couldnt stay intact for us.
Is there anything special about the chest and shins that make them better than allstar?
We looked at Force3 and decided to stick with another All-Star MVP4000 due to the extra weight with the F3. My boy has taken a bunch of 90mph foul balls right off the mask and has had no issues.
He did find the balls more bouncy with the chest protector on blocks. It took some adjustment
It was the excess spidertack from Jordan Hicks
The chest protector is extra bouncy. He says the padding on both the chest protector and shin guards is better.
Coming back to this one.
Anyone have experience with the Force3 traditional mask? Good or bad, it's appreciated.
Son has the Force3 traditional mask and loves it. Uses it almost exclusively. Has a couple of All-Star hockey style that he used in High School (hockey style required in HS where we are) that I like / prefer but the Force3 traditional is his go to everyday practice and gamer.
