Excellent. The school that screwed him was Texas.  The kid ended up at Grossmont a JuCo in San Diego. He hit .377 with a 1.255 OPS. He’s 6’7” 240.

Thank you for posting this. What a powerful message about being a parent and loving your kid for who he is and celebrating his accomplishments.

I get it that there's a downside to the story. He was cut - and I know that hurt. But the message I heard was to tell my son how proud I am of him and that I have his back no matter what happens on the diamond.

I hope MJ has huge success in his future.

As if anyone needed another reason to root against the Longhorns. Glad to see he is doing well - father couldn't have handled that much better.

We will be likely be losing 2 OF to the draft, could use him in our program next year if he doesn't stay for a second season.

Great video. Stand up guy. I think all of us have been there when the coach in us wants to come out, but what is needed most is good ol dad. I have been there many of times before.

There is no shortage of reasons to root against the Longhorns. But they keep giving us new reasons on a regular basis
