From the A's to the Jays...

$18 million for 2 years with club option at $10 mil.

Did as much or more for the A's than Thome did for the White Sox last year.

If he's healthy, he'll terrorize the White Sox a bunch of times in 2007.

I would bet that he signed with Toronto just to get a chance to play against the White Sox and show Williams and Ozzie that they made a mistake.

By the way...Who is slower? Thomas or Konerko?

Go White Sox!

Beenthere,

With a few notable exceptions, I'm always happy when a player gets a big payday and especially in this case. But, with the unbalanced schedule in baseball, do the Sox actually play Toronto more times than the A's? IMO, I don't know if Frank even knows where Toronto is, but he'll know how to deposit those checks. At this stage of his career, it is all about the money. The A's weren't going to offer a contract like that, and he couldn't afford to wait and risk Toronto signing another player. All it takes is one agressive suitor and Frank got his wish.

I'll take Konerko by a hair. Why not include Thome in the race and really make it interesting? LOL.
