WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University Head Baseball Coach Kevin Anderson announced Monday that he and his staff will be holding a free coaching clinic this weekend.

Anderson and assistants Bruce Cameron, Nick Sborz, Joe Bittner and Jacob Mays will hold the clinic beginning at 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning in Aikens Athletic Center on the Shenandoah University campus.

Clinic topics include coaching styles, warmups, hitting and pitching techniques as well as practice and game approaches designed to maximize efficiency and success.

The clinic is designed for youth and high school baseball and softball coaches.

"My assistants do a great job of teaching the game to our players, and I know this ability will translate to the youth coaches in the area," Anderson said.

"I look forward to a great day of talking baseball."

This clinic is offered on a bi-annual basis with the next one planned for late winter, 2017.

I went, got pulled over due to a expired vehicle registration , avoided the ticket.  But the clinic was well worth the hassle.  Especially good for a new or less tenured coach but at same time informative for the more seasoned.  Quite frankly any coach holding a clinic could learn from their hospitality -- down to earth guys who love to coach and talk baseball felt very welcome and appreciated for attending.  Great job to all the coaches!
