Lamar Fan 08 - I can feel your pain and frustration. We are going through a similar funk! Entered the week 5-1 (with the only loss being a 10 inning, 1 run lose to undefeated LD Bell). Now we've been hammered two games in a row, and as if that wasn't bad enough, we lost our #1 pitcher last night to a broken pinkie finger on his pitching hand sliding into second base!!! Hopefully next week will be better

Summit....1 3 1
Mansfield.0 3 1

Soph. Cody Dickson goes to 6-0. Ryan Behmanesh pitches 2 scoreless innings of relief to get the save, with 5 K's. Will Lane only gave up 3 hits for Mansfield.

After Saturday's games (we had the bye), here are the standings...

Mansfield 7-2
Paschal 7-3
Summit 6-3
Burleson 6-4
Granbury 6-4
Weatherford 6-4
Legacy 2-8
North Crowley 2-8
Timberview 1-9
collikar,

We lost that game 6-5 Saturday to Sam Houston. (Rett didn't pitch)

Sunday we came back and won 6-5. Rett came in relief and pitched 1.2 innings allowing two hits no runs.
Marcus Limon relieved Rett in the ninth and ended up getting the save in Sundays game.

The starting pitcher for Sam Houston on Sunday was Freshman Zach Neal from Flower Mound.

Yup,

Choice (UTA)
House (Arkansas)
Shelton (SHSU)

Jacob House and Matt Shelton played with my son on the Heat, Michael Choice and my son attended a perfect game event in Atlanta together.

All three are quality players and good young men. Glad to see all three contributing to their college teams as Freshman.

Michael Choice kind of stayed below the radar as a HS player because he didn't play for a premiere select team until after he graduated HS.

And Danny, it's not uncommon for Matt to strike out former teammates...my son HATED to have to face Matt. Nasty stuff and had a reputation for hitting players, so my son always had happy feet.

KD we may have to send you out for sensitivity training...."premier select team" what is that? Big Grin

Choice always played on a highly competitive team. teams that not only were tops locally but nationally, What he did was play down with the 08' class because he is young!

You are correct Nortex....

Michael Choice played as a 15 year old with OPson on a team called Image coached by Denny Dixon. We had several players on that team that are still playing and making major contributions on their HS teams including:

Michael Choice- (UTA) (one heck of a pitcher as well!)
Alex Baker-McKinney (Air Force Academy)
Mitchell Rhame-McKinney Boyd DH
Matt Lackie-McKinney North (Louisiana-Lafayette)
Nico Taylor-McKinney North (Arizona)
Trey Sorrells-McKinney North (Jefferson College) leading all of 4A in RBI right now
Tyler Sibley-starting SS for Frisco; legit D-1 prospect
Robert Roher-Celina coming off TJ surgery, legit D-1 pitching prospect
Michael Liba-Frisco Centennial-currently in the top 10 in hitting in 4A; also one of the top kickers in the state
Kyle Padden-starting SS for Centennial
Crosby Butler-starting CF for Centennial
Barrett Beck-Plano West starting CF? was at one time before injury
Troy McCartney-Celina-one of the top 3A pitchers in the area
Matt Rome-Sherman
Tyler Bruce-Plano Wests starting catcher

We played in the Jr. Olympics in New Orleans that summer and had a good showing against some of the better teams in the country at that time.
