I coach a 13U team that survives on fund raising alone. We have a couple sponsors, but not anything that really adds up. If anyone would like to share any good fund raising ideas, it would be appreciated. Thanks
Before doing these check your state laws. As a registered 501c we raised a lot of money running a numbers game based on the state lottery daily number. We did it for a month. We sold tickets for $10. Winners got $50 and $100 on Saturdays. The kids/parents were responsible for selling twenty tickets. That would generate $2,600. We usually paid out about $400-600. We also did Super Bowl and NCAA basketball pools with half the collection for the team.
Parents know friends who own small business and sometimes the owners of the small business they frequent. Have them talk to potential sponsors. Have them present levels from $50 to $250.
$50 - Base Hit Club $100 - Doubles Club $150 - Triples Club $200 - Homer Club $250 Grand Slam Club
Every parent who tries the least bit will get three $50 donations minimum. I got $700 (four $175's) asking businesses I frequent. $175 is the rate local businesses are conditioned to by the local youth sports organization. Post the donations/businesses on your website.
