Great, small, private school and new baseball lockers and hitting area.  The field is nice and there is supposed to be another phase of improvements.  They lost a President that was really into sports recently, so all bets are off on progress.  Unfortunately, the baseball program has a history of mediocre performance in a conference that has changed a lot in the past year.  It might be easier for them to win in the conference now that 5 teams left.  The head coach has been there forever and the program has been bland the whole time.

Me and my 2014 visited and have nothing but great things to say.  The coaches were great - the academics are excellent.  The campus was beautiful - and the baseball facilities were already nice -but as you know already are being improved upon.  Furman is expensive however....  But definitely remained a consideration based upon what we saw/heard while there.

Me and my 2015 visited a couple weeks ago. Impressed with the campus and facilities. Coach Smith has been there 20 years. The pitching coach was hired a year ago and the assistant, Coach Whitfield, is going on his 7th year. My son loved the coaches and believe the program is on an upward trend. 2012 they increased their baseball scholarships from 7 to the full 11.7 so they can raise their recruiting efforts . Apparently a new AD that is supporting the baseball program and the improvements are on track. By the way, the new club house is beautiful. the only negative we had was the cost.
