Longshots Baseball 18u defeated the Illinois Sparks 18u team in the finals of the Future Prospect Tourney in 8 innings by the score of 7-6...The game was excellently played by both squads..

Jeff Bolens Midwest Rangers Scout Team defeated the Orland Sparks 15u team in the JV division title game. That 15u Sparks team should really do well in the CABA World Series tourney and we really enjoyed seeing the Rangers squad and can't wait to see them in Bloomington-Normal next weekend...

Longshots team definitely showed why they should always be mentioned in the same breath with some of the other excellent traveling programs which are discussed...Showed alot of class, determination and a NEVER GIVE UP ATTITUDE THE ENTIRE TOURNEY....battling through the obstacles of not having all of their pitching due to the summer high school playoffs...
A definite underdog to the Sparks but thats exactly why we play the games...You just never know what can happen IF THE KIDS are given the chance to play the game.... congrats to both teams on a great tourney and great season...Both are winners!!!!

Woodly, one small correction, the Longshots are a 17U team.

Thanks for the kind words regarding the Longshots program and thanks for hosting these tournaments...they are a great way for kids to get exposure and to improve their game by competing at a high level.

I would like to add that Kankakee CC was a great place to play the games. Coach Post is a nice guy and he keeps his field in superior condition...it was outstanding! It's no surprise that his program is having so much success.

Thanks again,

Mike F
