As I sit here on a conference call with my co workers in Chicago and New Jersey, I feel almost guilty knowing that in just a few hours, while they are shoveling snow and chipping ice, I will be eating snow (sno-cone) and chewing the ice in my drink while watching a ball game...

Note that I said almost guilty...

Duly noted. Wink

.....and now concentrate on the watch..you are getting sleepy.... very sleeeeepy...

You will now follow the HSBBW Northerners command and everytime you lick a snowcone the lyrics of Frank Zappas "Yellow Snow" will be embedded in your subconscious and will stay there until the frost has completely left our Northern soil.

When you click the "enter" key you will awake, head to the ballpark, buy a snowcone, and enjoy the spring games.

Observer 44, and anyone else that wants to read,

My son is one of three true freshmen on the team. Almost all players esp. postion players redshirt. My son was heavily recruited for this team.
Today he was the DH hitting in the third spot. He was 1-3 with a double, a walk and hit by pitch. I think my son will see a lot of PT,but its a good team. I do think he could possible play as a utility player, and move around. I hear they like to mix things up.
Considering many players were on the state championship team I think it was a good first game.
We won 6-0,but I think our pitching will get challenged a lot more this weekend aS we are in the bay area for 3 games and then back down there to play at USF on Tuesday against another bay area team. Then 4 games the next two weeks, I think I will have more of an idea then.
My son will battle and most importantly you can tell the team has good chemistry and my son is having fun and learning about college ball. Everyone on this team can play, not like HS where only maybe 6-8 guys can really do anything.
My husband and I enjoyed ourselves, weather was decent for opening day.
The coach makes it nice for the boys for a JC.They did a lot of fundraising in fall. They all had matching cleats, nice unis, hats, jackets and baseball bags.I think it will be a fun season.

Observer 44, thanks for all your posts and esp. ones to me I look forward to hearing from you always. Did you catch any teams today?
