A211 - sent one back to you

Coach A - I knew you might have a few on this topic.

CD - Those were among the very first on the list and will be played quite often!!!

Danny - tell your son that the game music is intended to entertain the fans (ie you) not the player, he should be somewhat busy with other things at the game.
MAB

Really, and who decided a players "intro" song was picked to entertain the fans. Son uses his intro song for that little extra adrenaline rush, extra pump. He picks a song that fires him up and if the fans like it, great. As for son being somewhat busy doing other things, I'm not sure how that has any effect whatsoever on his preparation. He's called upon, they play two or three minutes of his intro song while he warms up, he's good to go. Been doing it since high school and seems to be working ok!
So no, I don't think I will tell him it's for the fans, I'll let him keep thinking it's for him! Cool

I guess a few others (UGA) use it as a little
extra pump as well! Wink

Baseball gets boost from music

Justin Niefer sometimes needs a shot of adrenaline before he steps up to the plate.

Even though the Bulldogs' designated hitter has important things on his mind concerning his at-bat, Niefer said he always listens to his personally selected introduction music playing on the public address system at Foley Field: Van Halen's "And the Cradle Will Rock."

"There's times where I do listen for it a little more just if I need a little extra boost," Niefer said.

Each player has a song of his choosing, with the first five to 10 seconds of the song played over the loud system before each player's at-bat or first pitching appearance.

"There's some thought put into it," sophomore first baseman Brandon Lowe said about each players selection of a song. "People are pretty picky about the songs they choose."

"It's just a matter of finding something you like, something you think might help you out, something you think the fans will like to get them into your at-bat," Lowe said.

Danny,

Please don't take offense - my comment was toward the songs you and CD had posted. I am very sure walk up songs and intro songs are for the kids why else do we let them choose them. My comment was directed at the songs that were discussed - sorry, I guess I need to be more specific. As far as what he's doing with his time during the game - I guess joking and sarcasm is hard to get across sometimes unless everyone knows each other.

Have a wonderful day!!!
