NH teams allowed at most 20 regular season games from mid-April to around Memorial Day. Usually play MWF (V/JV)... There are 4 divisions 3 which have 18-20 schools so you play everyone once. There's a 3rd division with like 25-30 schools that plays unbalanced schedule and has a play-in round for up to seed 24 (I think, that's where 9and7dad's kids play so he may know). NH playoffs are single elimination per division with 2 games/week for that ending with the finals for each division at Fisher Cat Stadium (Jays AA team in Manchester).  Sometimes that final game is more than a few days after the semifinals and I've seen it "bump up" against a graduation - the state organization doesn't necessarily accommodate for that since they only have the finals site for one day...  There were pitching rules in playoffs about inning counts, not sure if they're still in effect... It caused a team one year a game on protest.

I haven't quite figured out if there's a game limit count here in NC, but V/JV are usually Tu/Fri with other days used to fill in your schedule. We started Mar 1 and last games are by May 9 w/ playoffs starting May 11.  From the state website, I see for public schools playoffs for each of the 4 divisions are 4 32-team single elimination bracket until final 4 teams are left. Then it seems best 2 of 3 series for semis and finals (early June). In the end perhaps 35 games played by the champion. The private schools have a 12 team bracket for each of their 3 divisions where the finals are also best 2 of 3..

Georgia 6A High School:

Varsity:

27 games in regular season (more than 10 were non-regional games)

-First game was 2/13

-Last game will be 4/22 (State Playoffs start 4/29)

-3 games per week seems to be the norm.

JV:

18 games in regular season (no non-regional games)

-First game was 2/26

-Last game was 3/29

-3-4 games per week seems to be the norm.
