I have been playing with one on my non-throwing wrist since April. It really has not affected my play at all. However, since it is not on my throwing arm, it really plays no role in any actions for me. The only problems I have are when I do push ups, and I found an alternative exercise for that so I don't have any pain. It's really a very obscure injury/problem and I don't know too much about it other than I have been playing with it for a while. The only problem I can think of is that it restricts range of motion, but that's all that has happened to me.
I had one on a finger joint; most folks wouldn't notice it but to me it looked like the iceberg that hit the Titanic. At urging of devoted family, who loved to say "Dad what's that thing on your finger?", I had it removed.

Bad result. Cyst is gone but it was wrapped around the joint, causing the need for a good bit of cutting to remove it which "beat things up a bit" in the words of the surgeon, and I haven't regained normal flexibiity with the joint. (now 2 years post surgery)

I still can't grip a baseball as I did before, apparently due to scar tissue. If I had it to do over, I would live with it. Were I a pitcher as opposed to an aging attorney, it would've ended my career.
