program hasn't been one of the stronger ones in GISD in the past, but maybe they can make some strides with a new coach. its really hard in an open district to compete with rowlett for players. my suggestion would be to go to some games and sit close to the dugout. that way you can see how the coach relates with his players. they are playing in a tournament in mesquite this weekend.
Garland Owls are known for football not baseball!! They have gone through many BB coaches the past several years. As Go Pirates states, in an open district, Rowlett and Naaman tend to get more Baseball players. Garland does have the IB program for the the scholarly type (which is a good thing).
Good luck in your decision.
Most baseball players in GISD want to go to Rowlett, because of the baseball program. From what is in the "grapevine news" Sachse is actually taking in more players than Naaman now, and Sachse is getting better every year. Also, hear that the Lakeview coach is pretty good and runs a good program. But, like Ed Sirs stated, Garland does have the IB program. The best thing would be to go to games and listen to parents and watch the coaches, and you'll be better informed to make the best decision for your son. Good Luck!
