Congratulations to Scott Weismann of Acton-Boxboro HS, Massachusetts Gatorade POY.
Charlie - you might want to mention that your post was from the Nashua Telegraph. Beyond that, your comment about AJ losing to Brad when AJ bested him in the NHS/NHN game, yesterday was way out of line. One game does not a player make and its my understanding that Gatorade POY candidates are measured with regard to academics and character, as well as, athletic achievement. Your brother is a good athlete but Brad is the all around real deal. He has earned every accolade that he has received.
Congrats to Ryan Westmoreland.....Gatorade POY in RI for second straight yr.
Thanks for your opinion. Much appreciated
I was wondering if Ryan could win two years in a row. That's great news! Congrats, Westie.

Quick thought about Brad Zapenas, I have coached against Brad since he was 12, in fact I remember having to do the parade at Cooperstown Dream Park with my team behind Brad's, I think he might have had a broken arm/hand at the time. His team knocked my team out the State Tournament over in Dover. One thing has not changed since then, Brad Zapenas can flat out play. To be honest during the game as the opposing coach you can not stand Brad, because he is so good and he knows it. The kid moves like a ball player, thinks like a ball player and plays with a confidence that is frustrating to his opposition. Good Luck next year at Boston College, I personally think you have a bright future in the ACC.
Side note: I hope the player I remember from Cooperstown is Brad, if not I apologize for the confusion.

Who won the CT POY
Jason Esposito? Or was that last year. He won it for 2007-08 so I'm thinking that must be this year.
