Getting a player drafted

I have a senior shortstop that moved here from the Dominican Republic. He runs a 6.5 60 with great range and a very strong arm. He is a switch hitter also. What are your sugestions for getting teams to look at him. I have received a few form letters from some teams, but nothing specific. Thanks for any help you have.

Find the local MLB Scouting Bureau representative and have him fill out the information and put it into the database. E-mail Jerry Ford at Perfect Game.

Call all of the local scouts that you know and suggest a look.

See if you can get him to a local indoor showcase.

Call a couple of colleges for him.

Definitely the Fords and their staff at Perfect Game.

Another thought...We have a webster who posts regularly from Fisher's Indiana (not sure exactly where it is in the state but they likely have a lot of lakes and fish "around 'dem parts"...), who is very knowledgeable and is likely a father, summer coach or high school coach.

I would pm him and see if you can get some thoughts and resources from him.

Call the ML scouting bureau and tell them about the kid. They will send someone out to see him. They will give you a name and number of the local scout. He will get you to fax a schedule. Its easy to get someone to come out. Now he has to make them want to come back.
