it happens to everyone. some ideas to get rid of them are maybe listen to music, or get rid of some energy by doin a little running or something like that.
It's ok to be a little nervous. Run a few extra wind sprints before each game. Don't wear yourself out though. Running will help to release some of the nervous tension.
Ditto all the other comments, I played several sports and invariably had a good case of butterflys before every game. Perfectly natural, it's the body pumping adrenaline in anticipation of the 'battle'. Once the game started the butterflys always went away. What I liked to do was listen to music, do some wind sprints, then sit and visualize some important aspects of the game in my head. Like Jon said, I'd be concerned if you didn't get nervous beforehand.
2 of the greatest athletes ever actually got sick before each game (vomited), Bill Russell and Bobby Orr. Its adrenalin, pressure and old fashioned butterflies rolled together.
