Three games into the season and my son is hitting .600...Great you may say? He's only 3 for 5, with 5 BB's and 2 HBP's! Now I'm pretty sure an OBP of 800-something is good for a kid hitting in the 2-hole but is OBP something that college recruiters look at? He's a good hitter and leads his team in runs scored, but he's very selective at the plate and I'm a little concerned that if his numbers don't bulk up a bit no one's going to show much interest. I'm half tempted to tell him to "swing if it's close" but it would go against everything he's been taught up until now. Any thoughts?
