Not to bad when you wake up and you have the Red Sox and Oakland on the tube at 6 AM for the MLB season opener---and Manny was Manny with a game winning 2 run double---I have the feeling he is set for a monster season

Gotta say I agree. We had to head off to work/school and missed Manny's game-winner, but it was great to have baseball with breakfast. And the best part of the day is yet to come - we have a HS game tonight!
I can't believe I was listening to a pregame show on the radio at 5:30am. Or was it 6:30pm? I guess it depends on where we are. It was better than listening to babbling morning fools or talk shows during a long drive. Manny is on pace for 648 ribbies.
The traffic was much lighter than ususal this morning. I think they should play all their week day games at 6 am!!!

From a brief stay in Mass. last summer, i've found there is ALWAYS a Red Sox game on TV!!!!
Just saw the replay of Manny's double. Once again Manny showed everyone why he is the worst example of a baseball player in a long long time.

Sure. Not sure if I would use the word hero at my age but he is only player in the Major Leagues that I will go out of my way to watch. I now have to watch him on the internet because he is almost never on TV on the east coast. And I would buy a magazine if it had an article about him in it.
Greg Maddux is my man. When I pitched in the over thirty league in the 1990's I watched him all the time on TBS. I won't go on and on about him but I hope he pitches long enough to get 374 wins. That would put him 3rd on the all time wins list, give him some separation from Clemens and, in my opinion, make him the best pitcher since Walter Johnson.

He's one of the best pure power hitters I've ever seen. Now from the plate forward is where a few people have a problem with him.
