Days like today are the ONLY reason I am glad I coach during those 120 degree summer days. Unless of course I am in El Rino, Oklahoma watching an Oklahoma City news chopper fly over because it is chasing a tornado near by all the while hail the size of golf balls is hitting the dugout we are sitting in. Ahhhhh good times near the home of Garth Brooks, or was it Chris Gaines? rockband 08 guitar

Andy and I were on the back side of it heading home and I kept asking him, "You sure we should be going through this????" He said "SURE! God's in control and if it's our time to go, then so be it". I agreed with that statement, but I just didn't want to give God any assistance if you know what I mean. Wink

And thank you collikar for the help. I just remember seeing a water tower on the way down that said Home of Garth Brooks. Couldn't remember where it was so I thought I'd throw out his alter ego name of Chris Gaines.
We cancelled our scrimmage. Both teams are banged up and just did not want to risk further injury.

I was going to hold out 4 starters and 3 pitchers.

Believe me, I hate not being on the field as much as anyone. But at this point, and for a scrimmage, I just don't think it is worth risking anymore injuries at this point. We have bigger fish to fry than the 2nd scrimmage opponent.

Got to see the big picture folks.

Got two in today in Grapevine -- brrrrr. Pitchers were limited to 15 pitches an inning -- incomplete innings were resumed. As expected, hitters struggled a bit. I think the day was ok for evaluation purposes, but not much more was accomplished. I guess that's what these things are all about, eh? Smile

PE outscored Grapevine -- PE and Cedar Hill were close -- not much offense as the kids got colder. East had a grand slam and a triple off the wall -- 9-10 hits total. The Panthers, like most teams, are still trying to finalize a few spots.

Rockwall on Tuesday, Denton on Friday.

Not many of us wanted to be outside today, but my friends in Ohio are envious. penguinskateb
