That is good stuff. Al Kaline is the man, and was my first baseball hero growing up. At 6 years old, I got a Spalding Al Kaline glove for my birthday. It lasted all the way to junior high. Kaline could do it all...5 tool player. In 1969 he made an appearance at a Toledo Mud Hens minor league baseball game, and was signing autographs. He signed a 7 year olds Al Kaline baseball glove that he wishes he had today! The autograph looked just like the burned in autograph in the middle of the glove.

Really interesting thing about Kaline is that he was the American League batting champion at age twenty, an age when many of our sons are still finding themselves on their college teams. Yet if you look at his stats as a nineteen year old starter, he was one of the worst hitters in the American league for most of the 1954 season.
